I am Nirav Karani, an engineer by profession. I cannot claim to be in ineffable overwhelming love with what I’m doing, but I quite enjoy it just the same. In fact, that is a bit of a pattern with a lot of things that I do. Gregory Roberts was described by a girlfriend in Shantaram (one of favourite novels) as someone who is interested in everything, but committed to nothing. When I first read the book, the sentence hit me as really powerful. However, over time I’ve started to think that that’s only because I have not found my passion yet and it’s only a matter of time before that happens. In the meantime, I try to be fairly enthusiastic in whatever it is that I’m doing. Okay, enough about that.
I’m a pretty big fan of Liverpool Football Club. I don’t really know why. I’ve never been to the city. So it’s not like I am gripped by the rich history that everyone talks about. I don’t have a lot of friends that are Liverpool fans. It’s not even like they play the best football. There’s no logical reason, really! I guess some (all?) loves are like that.
I practice yoga and meditation regularly. It has changed me in a very fundamental way and I can’t overstate how strongly I feel about its power as a tool for a stress-free and a more productive being.
Well that’s all I can think ‘about me’ right now. There must a lot of other things, of course. I guess they will be reflected in my posts. That’s the point of having a blog, isn’t it?
